We
believe that solicitors practice is the cornerstone of any legal practice;
briefing commences with documentation before appropriate legal steps
are taken. Therefore astuteness and diligence is required with the
handling of any written document, from preparation to engrossing of
the document, it requires the understanding of issues in a particular
transaction to protect the interest of a client and avoid unnecessary
disputes.

We
believe at SAMUEL J. O. & ASSOCIATES that a lawyer’s knowledge
must traverse various disciplines - Business Administration, Finance,
Investments, Medicine, Arts, Music, Philosophy, Economics, Religion,
Sports, Management policies and Allied matters, to crown it all a lawyer
must possess the legal mind to effectively harness these knowledge and
apply that knowledge for the benefit of all clients.

Legal
practice demands first, specialisation and then, a general knowledge
of the law. Interestingly we have found that a solicitor’s brief
may commence as a simple solicitor’s brief, but before its completion
would require the knowledge of current Banking Law & Practice, Inter-governmental
Network, elements of Immigration (Business& Residence permit for
expatriates) and knowledge of Criminal Law.
On the other hand, instructions initiated as a criminal brief have sometimes
meandered into Property, Investment, Maritime & Shipping, Oil &
Gas.
The Associates have formed a formidable team to tackle issues however
challenging working in concert. |
